  • 1 pound elbow macaroni
  • 4 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 4 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 6 slices turkey bacon, cooked and crumbled

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large pot, cook the elbow macaroni according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. In the same pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for about 1 minute until bubbly.
  4. Gradually whisk in the milk, continuing to stir until the sauce thickens.
  5. Add the cheddar and Parmesan cheeses, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Stir until the cheese is melted and everything is well combined.
  6. Mix the cooked macaroni and crumbled turkey bacon into the cheese sauce.
  7. Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until bubbly and golden on top.
  8. Let it cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add some crushed red pepper flakes to the cheese sauce.
  • You can substitute the turkey bacon with regular bacon if desired.
