  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cream cheese
  • 1 cup powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm milk and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, and spices.
  3. Add the milk mixture, melted butter, and eggs to the dry ingredients.
  4. Knead the dough until smooth and elastic.
  5. Let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
  6. Roll out the dough, spread with melted butter and sprinkle with brown sugar and spices.
  7. Roll tightly, slice, and place in a baking pan.
  8. Let the rolls rise again for 30 minutes.
  9. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25-30 minutes.
  10. Mix cream cheese and powdered sugar for the glaze and drizzle over rolls.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use whole milk instead of skim.
  • Let the rolls cool slightly before glazing.
