  • 1 tsp baking soda

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • ½ cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 tbsp sugar (for rolling)
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon (for rolling)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until light and fluffy.
  4. Add eggs and vanilla extract to the butter mixture and mix well.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
  6. In a small bowl, mix sugar and cinnamon together.
  7. Roll dough into balls, then roll in cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  8. Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are set.
  10. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks.
