Ingredients

  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup green sugar crystals

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, mix together the flour, baking soda, and baking powder.
  3. In a separate bowl, cream together the butter, white sugar, and salt until smooth.
  4. Beat in the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract until well blended.
  5. Gradually blend the dry ingredients into the creamed mixture.
  6. Roll rounded tablespoonfuls of dough into balls, and place onto ungreased cookie sheets.
  7. Flatten each ball with the bottom of a glass dipped in green sugar.
  8. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or until golden.
  9. Cool on wire racks.
