- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup unsalted butter, chilled
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 4 medium apples, peeled and diced
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a bowl, mix flour and sugar. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Press the mixture into muffin tins to form crusts.
- In another bowl, combine apples, lemon juice, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Fill the crusts with the apple mixture.
- Top each pie with a lattice crust or additional dough.
- Brush the tops with the beaten egg.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
