Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake pan with liners.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream the butter and sugar together until fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and peppermint extract, and mix until well combined.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Fold in the crushed peppermint candies and chocolate chips.
  7. Divide the batter evenly among the cupcake liners.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Allow to cool completely before frosting.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, substitute half of the granulated sugar with brown sugar.
