- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1 cup milk, warmed
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup raspberry jam
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- In a bowl, combine warm milk and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt.
- Add melted butter, eggs, and the yeast mixture to the dry ingredients. Mix well until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough for about 10 minutes until smooth. Place it in a greased bowl, cover, and allow to rise for 1 hour.
- After rising, roll the dough out into a rectangle.
- Spread raspberry jam mixed with lemon juice over the surface of the dough.
- Roll the dough up tightly and slice it in half lengthwise.
- Twist the two pieces together and shape into a loaf. Place in a greased pan.
- Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 30-35 minutes, or until golden brown.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add a pinch of cinnamon to the filling.
- Make sure the butter is softened but not melted for the best dough consistency.
