  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1 cup milk, warmed
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup raspberry jam
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm milk and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt.
  3. Add melted butter, eggs, and the yeast mixture to the dry ingredients. Mix well until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough for about 10 minutes until smooth. Place it in a greased bowl, cover, and allow to rise for 1 hour.
  5. After rising, roll the dough out into a rectangle.
  6. Spread raspberry jam mixed with lemon juice over the surface of the dough.
  7. Roll the dough up tightly and slice it in half lengthwise.
  8. Twist the two pieces together and shape into a loaf. Place in a greased pan.
  9. Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  10. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 30-35 minutes, or until golden brown.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add a pinch of cinnamon to the filling.
  • Make sure the butter is softened but not melted for the best dough consistency.
