  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp cream of tartar
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 3 tbsp cinnamon sugar (mix of cinnamon and sugar)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until smooth.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. In another bowl, combine the flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually blend the dry ingredients into the creamed mixture.
  6. Shape dough into small balls and roll in cinnamon sugar.
  7. Place on ungreased baking sheets and bake for 8-10 minutes.
  8. Let cool for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, try adding a pinch of nutmeg to the cinnamon sugar.
