- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 cup warm water
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup diced cooked ham
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- In a bowl, mix the warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil; mix until dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth. Cover and let it rise for 1 hour.
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Divide the dough into equal portions and roll each into a circle.
- In a bowl, mix the ricotta, mozzarella, ham, Parmesan, Italian seasoning, and pepper.
- Spoon the filling onto one half of each dough circle. Fold the other half over and seal the edges.
- Place the calzones on a baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
